ADHD and Neurodiversity

436851160Life shouldn’t be this hard…right?

It’s a load of laundry to fold, a pile of dishes in the sink, or a simple task that’ll probably take, like five minutes. Other people don’t seem to struggle as much to finish the day-to-day things. So, what the hell?

Emotions can come up randomly, quickly, and intensely. And most other people don’t understand.

It feels unnecessary to freak out over a small change or obsess over a passing comment.

And anything important only gets done at the last minute. How can some people sit down and start working on something with a snap of their fingers?

“Is there something inherently wrong with me?”

You’ve probably heard the labels and have been hearing them since you were a kid – “You’re being dramatic.”, “You’re a little too much.” “Stop being lazy”, “Why do you act so selfish?”

If you haven’t heard it from others, you’ve thought about it yourself – definitely.

Wondering if you’re just flawed, or doomed to be this way, as you’ve already been trying as best you can.

You’re wondering about it.

You’ve been hearing more people talk about ADHD, ASD, and neurodiversity.

Neurodivergence means having a brain different from what professionals call ‘neurotypical.’

You’ve had a lot of questions and have thought about it a lot.

Maybe even this classic: “What if I’m just making this all up?”

Here’s the thing: you don’t have to keep sitting around stewing it over, or looking up all the things online anymore.

1348018796The answers are here.

In therapy together, we address and review all your questions, all your observations, and all the possibilities.

It’s likely that if you are wondering about having ADHD, ASD, or being neurodivergent, there’s something to it. There’s a reason so many fly under the radar in being spotted and recognized for this, and it’s not because they are good at faking it.

In the right environment, with the right questions, we can get to the bottom of what more could be there for you.

There are assessments, too. They take a while to complete, but I aim to be as thorough and accurate as possible.

You’ll get understanding, not judgment.

And it doesn’t stop with finding the diagnosis.

You’re not the labels you’ve heard. You’re a human being, and even more so, a human with a beautiful mind that works differently. And that’s the best part: we’ll help you learn the beautiful side of neurodivergence and how to embrace it to your advantage.

ADHD, for example, comes with challenges and strengths.

Having ADHD is like having a Ferrari engine for a brain. It’s powerful, fast, and made to accomplish many beautiful things in unique and inspiring ways. But we may have to help you find your brakes.

Let’s help you identify what you want.

In this team effort, we help you figure out what you want to see better and what is acceptable to live with. We set our goals, review what strategies you can try, and explore where you can get the support you deserve.

We’ll celebrate the small and big wins and learn to appreciate the times it doesn’t work as an opportunity to understand what happened.

Before you know it, that little monkey on your back bugging you about what you’re doing isn’t so bad anymore. You’ll be getting things done and become more accepting of yourself.

I know phone calls kinda suck, but this one is worth it.

All you have to do is make one phone call that will not be so bad or take forever: (408) 409-5245.

You can also email, I’m good with that too.
